The Joe Horvath Memorial Scholarship Fund
Proceeds will benefit the Joe Horvath Memorial Scholarship fund. This fund provides educational assistance to individuals with proven academic records but financial hardship. Since its inception in 1996 the fund has awarded between 75 and 100 scholarships totaling over $300,000 to deserving students. Most have been college bound students but the fund has also helped high school and grade school students.
Joe Horvath was a native of Hell’s Kitchen and worked tirelessly for 35 years serving the children of his neighborhood. He was director of PAL Duncan Center on West 52nd Street, the street in front of which is now named after him. The scholarship fund honors his memory and his lifelong commitment to education.
“The Kings of Appletown”
‘The Kings of Appletown” is a new movie from Academy Award winning writer/director Bobby Moresco. The movie stars “Dylan and Cole Sprouse” (of the Suite Life of Zack and Cody)as two cousins growing up in an idyllic American small town who witness a shocking crime. Based on Mark Twain’s classic “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, the movie is an adventure thriller for the whole family that has audiences on the edges of their seats from start to finish.
Director, Bobby Moresco, Writer, Amanda Moresco, Producer, Joe Reilly and Executive Producer, Tom Kelly will be at the screening to introduce the movie and be on hand for a question and answer session afterwards
